Remember how I featured my friends blog and she made the t shirt skirt? Well, I decided to make one finally. Good for the first time, but I need some serious practice! Please dont look too close! Loving my model though! She insisted on wearing her swim suit and did her own hair....

Skirt from a shirt
**After many problems of trying to make this post look somewhat cute and using my own font, it is just NOT going to work. AAAHHHH!!!! Maybe someone can reach me (pretty please???) I have a ton of cute fonts I need to put to good use but blogger won't let me. **
I decided to feature my cute friends Harmony on my blog. She's probably more sewing savvy than I am. Nope. I KNOW she is. Not that I can say much for myself. I've sewn a purse or two and maybe a pillow and blanket, But NOTHING extraordinary. She made this totally cute t-shirt skirt for her daughter and I adore it! (even though I've never seen it in person)...bad bad friend!!!
Little Notebook
When I had my baby shower for my daughter , my cousin had included this little book with a message inside saying it was to write down cute things about the baby and was to be put in my diaper bag. I admit that I never used the thing, until I came across it the other day. Yes, 3 1/2 years later!! While it was a cute idea, I decided to take it to the next level. This is not an orginal idea, I know, BUT it's sure cute!
-77cent notebook is what I used but you can do whatever you want.
-Modpodge
-Glue stick or spray adhesive for scrapbook
-ribbon ( size depending on the size of the notebook)
-Scrapbook paper

Cut your scrapbook paper the size of the notebook and glue it to the front and back of it while its closed.
Next glue the ribbon to the front and back of the notebook leaving some unglued at the front for an embellishment.
Glue coordinating paper just on the back binding part of the notebook covering the ribbon.
Now put the finishing touches on. And tie your ribbon to close the notebook
This is such fun project and super easy. I love having this in my purse now. So nice to jot down some notes or a short grocery list without having a huge notebook or pad!

Old Jewelry Box
This is an old jewelry box that I had gotten a long time ago but hated the brown so of course it just sat at the top of the closet. I finally decided to do something with it..
Here is the result!
And now my new and improved box! Thanks heavens the hardware actually matched the newer version sooo much better!

Window Frame
Now this is not my best work, but it sure kept me somewhat sane while doing it.
This wondow frame was sittin in our storage room let over from when my brother and sis in law has lived here. I finally decided to either throw it away or do something with it.

This is the result. (By the way, it is not finished quite yet.so don't judge!)
Yup! The ugliest crackle job anyone has ever done. To me at least. Plus it was blue.

Ribbon Flower Ring
Lately I have sene these everywhere! They are pretty much the new thing and I just had to try it!
Here is what you need:
♥ 1 1/2 in. silk or satin %100 polyester ribbon (or fabric) works best
♥ coordinating colored thin hair elastic ( I use the elastic that c an be found by the beading in Wal*Mart or you can get elastics from the dollar store)
♥coordinating colored felt
♥hot glue
♥lighter ( I like using the long lighter used to light fires because the small lighters get hot fast and you can get burned fast! I know this from experience)
♥jewel or beads or button for embellishment ( I like using brads so that I don't have to hot glue every petal together)
1-Cut 4 or 5 circles out of the ribbon largest to smallest.
2-Carefully burn around the edges to give the petal affect
3-Layer them largest to smallest and use hot glue too adhere them to each other.
4-Put a little jewel in the middle of the petals
5-Cut out a small circle of felt that is about half the size of the back of the biggest petal
6-Cut the elastic to the size of the finger you want to wear it on and either hot glue or sew the elastic to the back of the flower.
7-Last glue the felt on top of the elastic to give it s snug and finishing look.
There are many way you can do steps 5-7 but that is how I like to do it. It's soo simple you can easily make it in 5 min.
I apologize for the low quality pic. I cannot for the life of me find my camera so I opted for my 2 mega pixel phone camera...

Don't throw those old jeans away!!
Today I decided to start this blog off with a cute post I found. Yes, giving crdit where credit is needed. Now... I would be posting my own creation since this is basically my first post of the blog IF it weren't for the little elf that has stolen my camera oh and my nice bin full of buttons. I'm sure it will be found once I start cleaning...
I came across this super cute bog while I was beyond bored and trying to find some cute ideas.
So...Do not throw away those old jeans you dont want anymore! Look at this amazing skirt over at Helping Hands!
