Fabric Wreath

I'm not quite sure why in the world I started this, but I needed something to replace the Fall  decor that was still hanging on my door. My cute girlfriends came over on Saturday night do have a girls night/craft night away from hubby's and kids. Cute friend T had this fabric she was using for our necklaces (craft post coming soon) and I decided to use her scraps. What a good friend. She ended up giving me all the fabric when she was done and even came by the next day to give me more so I could finish it. Here is the end result. Now Im not a big wreath fan at all but for some reason this made me wanna make one for every holiday. The cost of this gem? $1. Yes, a wreath from the good ol' dollar store and fabric from my buddy. Couldn't get any better than that but free...

A lighter and closer look. If you dont like it, well I do! To each his own =)

Freaky Friday

Something new on the blog. Cuts down on the pressure. Enjoy. Feel feel to send me your pics too. I just may post them.

Did your head tilt slightly sideways to the left? Mine did.

Talk about brightening up the neighborhood.  At least it looks very clean.  The windmill’s a cute touch.

Aaah nothing says romance like a heart shaped jetted tub!

I'll give you 3 guesses what state this is in...give up? ARIZONA. Um yeah...only needed one guess.

Hope you enjoyed "Freaky Friday" as much as I did. Hope it sticks. Send in your ugly pics.

Nesting?

For some reason I'm feeling like I'm nesting, you know, except for whole being pregnant and all part. I'm constantly organizing and cleaning and I CANNOT STOP! My husband thinks Im crazy, I find it therapeutic. Yes, I'm STILL painting our place. You know, my "UPLIFT" post way back in October? Sad right? Well Im at it again only this time it's Kymber's bedroom. Im obsessed. Come Springtime it will become both the kids rooms and I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure how to make it both gender friendly. Picture to come. I found the perfect theme. Stay tuned...if you're even interested. Im no Genevieve Gorder (my favorite HGTV star), however I do what I can and do what I love.

Homemade Laundry Soap

I'm a Purex girl. I like buying the laundry soap from the store. I admit it. But my sister in law has a million kids (ok only 5 lol) and goes through soooo much laundry she decided to make her own laundry soap. She gave me her recipe and I'm going to attempt it. I decided to share it on here for all those who want to save alot of cash since laundry soap can get quite expensive. She claims it works better than tide. And she knows her laundry!

1 quart Water (boiling)
2 cups Bar soap (grated)
2 cups Borax
2 cups Washing Soda
  • Grate the soap into a sauce pan. We use a food processor and it makes the job much easier. Combine it with the water and heat on low heat until soap is dissolved.
  • Pour the soap water into a large, clean bucket and add the Borax and Washing Soda. Stir well with a wisk if possible until it's pretty much dissolved.
  • Add 2 gallons of water,Stir!
  • Cover pail and use 1/4 cup for each load of laundry. Stir the soap each time you use it (will gel up).
TIPS:
* You can use a few drops of essential oils to help the smell.
* Try to only use natural %100 soaps like Dovbe or Fels Naptha (Can be found at Macey's) If you use Fels Naptha use only one bar because it is a bigger bar than most.
* You can also use a soft water tablet in it to help if the soap is too hard on your clothes depending on the water you have.
 * Putting a few marbles in the final laundry soap bucket or container will help. Kind of like beads in your nail polish.

( All ingredients can be found at Macey's or Walmart. The Washing Soda and Borax are both in boxes like what dishwasher detergent is in.)
